How to Attach a Downloadable File for Your SureCart Products
SureCart makes it effortless to sell a variety of downloadable products, such as E-books, software files, games, and more.
Now, let’s walk you through the process of uploading your downloadable files on SureCart while setting up your product, ensuring your customers can access them seamlessly after making a purchase.
We offer two convenient methods for uploading content to your products:
- Secure Upload: You can securely store your downloadable files within your SureCart account. This ensures a reliable and controlled access process for your customers.
- External Links: Alternatively, you have the option to add links to files stored in your preferred storage solution, such as Google Drive or Dropbox. This enables your customers to access the files directly from these platforms.
In this guide, we will provide you with a step-by-step tutorial for both methods, ensuring that you don’t overlook any essential details.
This way, you’ll be able to effortlessly manage your downloadable products on SureCart, offering your customers a smooth and reliable experience.
How to Add Downloadable Files to a Product in SureCart
If you want to upload your files directly, SureCart will store them in your SureCart account and display the download option to your customers in their customer dashboard.
So if you want to upload files in the SureCart secure storage, follow these steps.
- First, open the product page where you want to attach digital files for download, this can be done from WordPress Dashboard > SureCart > Products.
- Scroll down to the Downloads section and click on the “Add Downloads” button
- Choose “Secure Storage” if you want your files to be stored in our secure storage.
- A new popup will appear where you will be able to upload your file or select from already uploaded files. Once you’ve selected your file, click on the “Choose File” button.
That’s it, You added your file to SureCart secure storage, and as a result, you will see your file is attached to the product.
How to Add External Storage Links for Your Products
In this case, when you click on the “Add Downloads” button, instead of “Secure Storage” you need to use the “External link” option.
This is a great option if you already have saved your file in your own secure storage and you just want to display that link to your customers as a download option.
Let’s check how this can be done.
- Click on the “Add Downloads” button and choose “External link.”
- A popup will appear where you need to provide the name of the downloadable file and the link to the file. Then click on the “Add Link” button and the file will be added to your product.
Remember that in the link URL, you can also put a direct web address, It could be a link to a Google Docs page, a YouTube video, or any link. When someone clicks on it, they’ll go straight to that web address.
Finally, after you add your files you will have them visible on the product page.

Please also note that it’s possible to add both, Secure Storage and External link files as a downloadable file and you can add as many as files you want for a product.
How Downloadable Files Will Appear to Customers
After purchasing the product with the downloadable files, customers will be able to see them on their Dashboard page, in the Downloads section.
