SureCart Order Fulfillment and Shipping Guide

Order fulfillment includes all activities that occur after an order is placed in your store, leading up to the customer receiving the shipped item.

Customers can also view these statuses in each stage from their customer dashboard account.

This guide covers the entire process and walks you through some fundamental steps to follow while fulfilling your orders.

Understanding Fulfillment and Shipping Statuses

You can filter all of your orders either via Fulfillment or Shipping statuses from the Orders section.

Here’s what both of these terms mean:

  • Fulfillment Status: This tells you where your order stands within the seller’s process. If your order is “unfulfilled,” it means the seller hasn’t started preparing it yet.
  • Shipping Status: This tells you where your order is in terms of getting it to you. For example, “Not shipped” means the seller hasn’t handed it over to the delivery people yet.

Types of Fulfillment Statuses

Following are the types of fulfillment statuses in SureCart:

  • Unfulfilled: Indicates an order that has been received but not yet processed. No actions such as packaging or label generation have been initiated.
  • Fulfilled: Denotes an order that has undergone the complete fulfillment process.
  • Partially Fulfilled: Indicates an order where only a portion of the items has been shipped, often applicable in cases of multiple products or split shipments.

Types of Shipping Statuses

Following are the types of shipping statuses in SureCart:

  • Not Shipped: The product is prepared for shipping but has not yet been dispatched to the carrier.
  • Shipped: The product has been handed over to the shipping carrier for delivery.
  • Partially Shipped: Some items within the order have been shipped, while others remain pending.
  • Delivered: Signifies successful delivery of the product to the customer.

Based on the current situation of your product in the delivery lifecycle you can set the fulfillment and shipping status of the individual order from the Orders section.

How to Fulfill Orders In SureCart?

Follow these steps to mark an order as Fulfilled in SureCart:

  • Select your order.
  • Click on the Fulfill Item button here.

Note: If you add a tracking number, you must include a tracking link; they go together to help both you and the seller keep track of your order until it reaches you.

  • Once your order is ready to be prepared and shipped, click on the Fulfill Item button here.
  • Click on this Cancel fulfillment option if you want to revert your order’s fulfillment status to Unfulfilled.

Note: SureCart does not display the fulfillment status on your buyer’s customer dashboard account. This decision was made with the understanding that their primary concern is usually the shipping status of their order

How to Change Shipping Statues In SureCart?

Once your order is marked as Fulfilled, a new dropdown is highlighted.

  • You can update your order’s shipping status here based on its delivery cycle. You can also notify your customer via email about these updates.

Your order will now be marked as Delivered in both your Orders as well your buyer’s customer dashboard account.
