How to Create and Edit Product Content (Long Description) in Bricks

In this guide, we will show you how to create and edit content for your products, also known as product long descriptions, so you can present your products as they deserve, full of images, videos, links, and more – your imagination is the limit!

Let’s get started!

Creating the Content

Bricks Builder integrates with SureCart to help you create and customize e-commerce product descriptions. The integration enables you to build functional, responsive product pages that enhance the shopping experience.

For the purpose of this guide, we will focus solely on native Bricks elements to show you how to create and edit content without requiring additional extensions.

  • First, you need to enable the SureCart Product Post Type in Bricks. To do this, go to Bircks > Settings and under Post Types, enable SureCart Product and Save Settings.
  • Go to the product where you want to create content in Bricks and click on Open Content Designer to start customizing.
  • In the top bar, click the EDIT WITH BRICKS button to open the editor. Now, you can create the content in Bricks as you normally would.

Adding the Content to the Product Template

You’ve created your product content, but it’s not appearing on the product page just yet. This happens because the content block or element must first be added to the Product Template.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to do this step by step with Bricks Builder. Don’t worry, it’s quick and straightforward!

Bricks Builder

To add the content in the product template with Bricks Builder, start by editing the Product Template. See this documentation for comprehensive instructions on editing a product template with Bricks.

  • Once you’re in the Bricks editor, insert the Post Content element into the desired section of your template.

Please note: Avoid placing the content inside the Product Form wrapper, as doing so may cause unexpected behavior when using certain elements.
  • In the Data source, select Bricks and now you content will automatically be added to your product.
