How to Enable and Configure Product Reviews

This document explains how to enable Product Reviews in SureCart and configure the display of ratings on product pages.

Requirements

  • WordPress admin access
  • SureCart installed and activated
  • At least one published product

Enable Product Reviews

To enable Product Reviews:

  • Go to WordPress Dashboard → SureCart → Settings → Reviews.
  • Enable Product Reviews.
  • Click Save.

Once enabled, customers can submit reviews on eligible products.

Product-Level Review Settings

In addition to global settings, reviews can be configured individually for each product.

To configure reviews for a specific product:

  • Go to WordPress Dashboard → SureCart → Products.
  • Click on the product you want to configure.
  • In the Reviews panel on the right sidebar:
    • Enable Reviews: Toggle to show or hide reviews for this product on the frontend
    • Review Request Email: Toggle to enable or disable automatic review request emails for this product
  • Click Save Product.

Important: When reviews are disabled for a product (either at the product level or globally), the following are hidden on the frontend:

  • Star ratings
  • Review summary
  • Review list
  • Write a Review button

Existing reviews remain stored in the system and can be viewed in the admin, but they are not displayed to customers until reviews are re-enabled.

Configure Review Settings

Send Review Request Emails

Sends an automatic email asking customers to leave a review after their order is fulfilled.

To configure:

  • Go to SureCart → Settings → Reviews.
  • Enable Send Review Request Email.
  • Set the number of days under When should we ask for a review?
  • Click Save.

The email is triggered after the order is marked as fulfilled.

Verified Buyer Badge

Displays a badge next to reviews from customers who purchased the specific product.

To enable:

  • Go to SureCart → Settings → Reviews.
  • Enable Verified Buyer.
  • Click Save.

The badge appears only when the reviewer completed a purchase that includes that exact product.

Managing Reviews

All reviews are managed from:

SureCart → Products → Reviews

From this screen, you can:

  • Edit reviews
  • Approve reviews
  • Reject reviews
  • Delete reviews

Clicking a review opens its detail page, where you can edit the title, modify the comment, change the rating, approve or reject, or delete.

Displaying Reviews on Product Pages

To display reviews on the frontend, add review blocks to your Single Product template.

Block Editor

Access via: SureCart → Products → Edit (any product) → Template → Edit Product Template

The following review blocks are available:

Displaying Ratings on the Shop Page

To show star ratings in the product grid:

  • Go to SureCart → Shop.
  • Select the Product Title and hit enter to add a new block.
  • Add the Star Rating block.
  • Click Save.

Elementor / Bricks

The following review elements are available in Elementor and Bricks:

Using Dynamic Data in Elementor and Bricks

If you are using Elementor or Bricks Builder, you can access review data dynamically using SureCart’s custom dynamic tags.

The following dynamic data is available:

How to Use:

  • Add a Text element (or any element that supports dynamic data) in Bricks.
  • Click the Dynamic Data (⚡) icon.
  • Select Custom Field / Manual entry.
  • Paste one of the dynamic tags above.
  • Save your template.

These dynamic tags allow you to display review data anywhere in your layout, including custom sections, headers, badges, or shop grids.

Important: These dynamic tags will return values only if the product has at least one approved review and reviews are enabled globally.

Expected Outcome

After configuration:

  • Customers can submit reviews on product pages
  • Review request emails are sent automatically after order fulfillment
  • Verified Buyer badges appear for qualifying reviews
  • Reviews can be moderated by the admin
  • Ratings display on product pages and shop pages

Notes, Limitations, and Edge Cases

  • Reviews must be enabled globally before they can be displayed.
  • Disabling reviews prevents new submissions but does not delete existing reviews.
  • Review request emails only trigger after an order is marked as fulfilled.

Important: If your store was created before the Reviews feature was introduced, you must manually update your product templates. Reviews are not automatically added to existing templates. To display reviews, add the Review blocks to your Single Product template.
