How to Create a SureCart Customer
In this article, we’ll explain what customers are, how customers are created in your SureCart store, and how you can create customers manually in SureCart.
Let’s begin with the basics!
What is a SureCart Customer
A SureCart customer is someone who shops at an online store made with SureCart. They look at products, put things in their cart, and buy them safely.
How Customers are Created in SureCart
SureCart’s online store system has different methods to create customer accounts for different situations. These methods cover things that happen automatically and things that store owners do on their own.
This article explains the different ways SureCart makes customers and why that’s helpful.
Automatically When You Finish Buying Things
The first method involves the automatic creation of a customer account when a buyer successfully completes a checkout process.
When a shopper adds items to their cart, proceeds to provide their necessary information, and successfully finalizes the purchase, a customer account is generated.
This account allows the buyer to track order history, save payment and shipping details for future purchases, and receive personalized offers.
Manual Creation by the Merchant:
There are two sub-methods under manual customer creation that is handled by the merchant, here they are:
Merchant Creates User from Customer menu: In this scenario, the merchant or store owner can manually create a customer account from within the dedicated customer management area of the SureCart platform.
This method might be used when the merchant wants to add a customer who has shown interest but hasn’t completed a purchase yet.
By creating a customer account, the merchant can keep a record of their interactions and potentially offer tailored incentives to encourage future purchases.
Merchant Creates User from Manual Order: Another manual method involves creating a customer account while processing a manual order on behalf of the customer.
For instance, if a customer places an order over the phone or through alternative means outside the online store’s regular checkout process, the merchant can manually input their information and create a customer account as they process the order.
This ensures that the customer’s data is properly captured within the system for future reference.
These different methods for creating customers within the SureCart platform offer flexibility to businesses based on various scenarios.
Now, let’s walk you through the process of manually creating customers as a merchant. This method involves your direct intervention, unlike the other method which happens automatically.
Create SureCart Customer from the Customer menu
Follow the steps below to create a SureCart customer manually from the customer menu.
- To begin, go to your SureCart Dashboard and click on the “Customers” menu.
- After you’ve accessed the “Customers” menu, click on the “Add New” button to start creating a new customer.
- Make sure to provide the required information by filling in the fields for “Customer Name” and “Customer Email”.
- You also have the choice to select the toggle for creating the customer in Test mode, if needed. Once you’ve made your decision, simply click on the “Create” button to create your SureCart user.
You’ll notice that your customer, in this example Donna J. Hambrick, has been successfully created. SureCart has also automatically generated a WordPress user linked to this SureCart customer.
Create SureCart Customer from the Manual Order
- To create a SureCart customer using the Orders menu, navigate to the Orders section in SureCart.
- Click the “Add New” button.
- In the Customer section, click on the dropdown menu labeled “Select a Customer.”
- Click on the “+ Add New” option, and this action will open a pop-up window.
- Complete the customer information and then click on the “Create” button.
You’ll notice that the SureCart customer has been successfully created, and an associated WordPress user has also been automatically generated.
You can verify that the new user was added by navigating to SureCart > Customers menu, where the recently added user will be listed.
SureCart gives you different ways to make and manage customer accounts. When people buy things, SureCart can make accounts for them automatically. This helps them track their orders and get special deals.
Also, if you have a store, you can make accounts for people yourself. This is good for making things personal and keeping track of orders, even if people buy things differently.
