How to Invite Others to Connect Payment Processors
Connecting payment processors can be challenging if you don’t have direct access to the account. The “Create Connection Link” feature addresses this issue by enabling you to securely invite others to connect a payment processor on your behalf. With just a few clicks, you can generate and share a link, making the setup process seamless and efficient.
In this documentation, we will guide you through the steps to create and share a connection link, ensuring a quick and hassle-free way to get your payment processor connected.
Let’s get started!
Creating the Invitation Link
To create the invitation link, you can use either the plugin or the platform. For this documentation, we will guide you through the process using the plugin.
- Navigate to SureCart > Settings > Payment Processors, and select any of the available processors. This action will open the platform directly on the store where you want to send the invitation link.
- Once on the platform, scroll down to the Payment Processors section. Here, the merchant will see a list of both active and inactive payment processors.
- Click the Create Connection Link button at the bottom of the page.
When the “Create Connection Link” window appears, locate the Processor Type dropdown.
- Click the dropdown and select the payment processor you want to generate the link for (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Mollie).
Next, the merchant needs to configure the connection link’s settings. They can choose the desired connection mode (Live or Test) and decide whether to send the link via email.
Here’s what they need to do:
- Check or uncheck the Live Mode box to determine whether the connection will process real transactions or remain in Test Mode for testing purposes.
- Ensure the Send Email box is checked if they want the invitation link to be emailed directly to the recipient. Enter the recipient’s email address in the Email field. Double-check that the address is correct to ensure the invitation is sent to the right person.
- Once all details are verified, click the Create Connection Link button at the bottom of the window to generate the link.
Share the Invitation Link
After creating the connection link, the next step for the merchant is to share the link with the user who needs to connect the payment processor. Additionally, an email containing the link has been sent to the specified address.
Here’s what the merchant needs to do:
- Copy the invitation link by clicking the copy icon next to the link.
- Share the link with the intended user through the desired communication channel (e.g., email, chat, or message).
- Inform the recipient to check their email for the connection link and instructions, as it has also been sent to the provided email address.
Steps for Users to Connect the Processor
After receiving the email or the invitation link, here are the steps the user needs to follow to connect with the payment processor:
- Open the browser using the provided link to access the screen shown below.
- Click the button that contains the name of the processor and the mode (e.g., Test Mode or Live Mode) in parentheses.
For example, if “Stripe” was selected and set to Test Mode, the button will display Connect to Stripe (Test Mode).
The user can then proceed by clicking the button to complete the connection process.
- Enter your processor account information in the provided fields.
These steps will successfully log you into the payment processor and finalize the connection. Once the process is complete, you will see a confirmation message, such as “Processor connected successfully!” This confirmation ensures that the connection has been fully established without any errors.
Your store is now successfully connected to the payment processor (e.g., Stripe in Test Mode) and ready to process payments. Moving forward, payments made by your customers will be handled seamlessly through the connected processor. If you selected Test Mode, you can safely test transactions before switching to Live Mode for real payments.
Congratulations! You’ve completed the setup process. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, refer back to this guide or contact support for help.
That’s it!
