URL parameters are a fancy way to add additional data to a URL that can pre-populate a form.
While we will be working to add this as an option to all of our checkout form fields, currently you can do this for coupons.
Why would you want to do this?
It’s much more convenient for a buyer when you give them a formatted link with the coupon automatically added. You can also remove the coupon input from the checkout form entirely, and still add a coupon via the URL.
Using the coupon URL parameter is easy.
Let say the URL to your checkout form is https://surecart.com/checkout-form
Let’s also say that the coupon code you created is SAVE50.
You would need to add the following to the end of the URL.
So the full URL you would give to your buyer is https://surecart.com/checkout-form/?coupon=SAVE50
