Creating New Coupon
To create a new coupon, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Navigate to the SureCart menu (1), and click on “Coupons” (2) to access the coupons section. Next, click on the “Add New” button (3) to create a new coupon. By following this simple process, you will be able to begin the coupon creation process and start promoting your products or services to new and existing customers.
Step 2: In the “Coupon Name” field (1), provide a descriptive name for your coupon that will help you keep track of it internally. If you want to use a specific promotion code, you can enter it in the “Promotion Code” field (2), or leave it blank to have SureCart generate one for you.
Limit use
If you want to limit the coupon to a specific customer, toggle the “Limit To A Specific Customer” option (3) and choose the customer you want. This step ensures that the coupon is only used by the intended recipient and helps to prevent abuse of the coupon code.
Product Restrictions
In this section, we will explore how to use product restrictions in coupon creation to achieve the desired results. The Product Restrictions limit the use of the coupons to only the products added to this list. If any product is not added to this list, then the coupon will not be applicable. Take note, however, that whenever a customer adds even just one of the products with the coupons restricted to the cart, the coupon is still applicable granted that it meets the other criteria set here.
To apply this, please follow the steps below.
Step 3: In the “Product Restrictions” section, click on the “+ Add Product Restriction” button (1) to select the product that you want to restrict.
Step 4: To add a product restriction, click on the “Find a product…” toggle (1) to open the product search bar. Next, select the product (2) that you want to apply the coupon to. If necessary, you can use the search bar (3) to find the product more quickly.
Step 5: After selecting the desired product, your screen will look similar to the example below. In the next section, we will set the type and amount of discount to apply.
Coupon Amount
In this section, we will explore how to set the amount and duration of your coupon in SureCart, so you can create effective promotions that attract and retain customers.
Step 1: Choose the type of discount (1), whether it is a percentage or a fixed discount. If you choose a percentage discount, simply enter the desired percentage (2) in the “Percent Off” field. Alternatively, if you choose a fixed discount, enter the amount (2) that you want to apply in the “Amount Off” field.
Coupon duration
Step 2: In the “Discount Duration” section (1), you can choose between three options: Forever, Once, or Repeating. If you select the Repeating option, make sure to fill in the “Number of Months” field (2) with the number of months you want the coupon to be active. This field is particularly useful if you have subscription or installment pricing, as it allows you to set a recurring discount for your customers.
Redemption Limits
In this section, we will explore three types of redemption limits: Usage Limit per Coupon (1), Usage Limit per Customer (2), and End Date (3).
Limit per coupon
Step 1: To limit the number of times a coupon can be used, enter the desired amount in the “Usage Limit per Coupon” field (1). This limit includes multiple uses by the same customer.
Limit per customer
Step 2: To limit how many times a single customer can use the coupon, fill in the “Usage Limit per Customer” field (2) with the desired amount. This limit ensures that individual customers don’t abuse the coupon and helps you control the distribution of discounts.
Limit by date
Step 3: If you want to set an end date for your coupon, simply activate the toggle button (1) and choose the desired date (2) until which your coupon will be valid. This feature is helpful if you want to create a sense of urgency and encourage your customers to act fast to take advantage of the discount. Once you have set the end date, click on the “Create Coupon” button (3) to generate your coupon code.
Summary of coupon
Step 4: You can view the summary of your coupon on the top right corner of your screen, which includes the discount type, discount amount, duration, uses, and any usage restrictions you have set. Make sure to review the summary carefully to ensure all the details are correct before publishing your coupon.
